Facebook is known for gathering to much personal information without the attention of its user. Is the Meta Verse just another way for Facebook to control and monitor society.

Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook have just announced the creation and re-branding to Meta. This is a concept that Zuckerberg has fully endorsed and is committed to bringing an alternative world to the public. Now this seems revolutionary but can we trust Facebook?
How much can Facebook control
Facebook has been under scrutiny from the Supreme Court and the public for gathering way too much information on their users. Facebook would track addresses, phone numbers, and locations of users without their consent. This is why the Meta verse is such a scary idea in the hands of an untrustworthy company.
This is a very interesting concept and it will be interesting to see what the Meta Verse can become. When the Meta Verse is released to the public I will not be surprised if massive regulations come along with its launch. Having one company owning a virtual world that millions will contribute to can pose a threat to users information and security.
What should be done about Facebook
Now I am not saying that Facebook will maliciously take personal information that they collect and will share it with just anyone. But, with an online world your information will be subjected to a major cyber security risk. For example if Facebook creates this world with the intention of having in-app transactions it runs the risk of your information ending up in the hands of an unsavory party.
