Essentials For Building A Computer

Updated: Nov 13, 2021

Building a computer seems very challenging at first but when you really look into it, it's as simple as putting together a puzzle.

What tools are needed?

When building a computer the most important tool is the correct size screwdriver. Doing research about the parts and the screws size needed when building can be critical for a successful build. There are tool kits that are designed to have everything needed when building a computer like the iFixit tool kit. While this tool kit will be helpful it is not completely necessary while taking on a computer build.

Are your parts compatible?

The first thing that someone needs to do before buying computer parts is making sure that all the parts are compatible. Without checking this you can run risk of destroying the parts and wasting a lot of money. A helpful website to use when building a computer is PCPARTPICKER. This website gives you pre-saved builds in your price rang but, if you would want to build it yourself it tells you what parts will work with the other components.

Risk's of damaging computer parts

When building a computer you need to make sure that all the expensive parts you just bought are safe. Static is the largest risk of damaging computer parts like your motherboard and graphics card. When building a computer you need to make sure that you are working in a static safe environment. A static bracelet can help you so you don't make this mistake.

Research!

The most important information that I can give is research. YouTube videos can be very helpful when trying to build a computer. There are hundreds of great tech YouTubers that have many step by step guides that breakdown everything needed. These videos are such a beneficial tool to utilize when building a computer. A great YouTuber that has helped me build my first computer was Linus Tech Tips. He offers very simple guides and they are packed full with useful information.

Tips

  1. Do research on the parts and make sure they are compatible

  2. Watch computer builds on Youtube for assistance while building
